How We Score Casinos
Six weighted categories. Hands-on testing. Zero pay-to-rank.
Every casino on BonusBeaters is scored on a 0-100 composite across six categories. The composite converts to the 0-5 star rating you see on cards and reviews. Here is what goes into each category.
1. Bonus value (25% weight)
We evaluate the headline offer against the friction: wagering multiplier, max-cashout cap, game contribution, and expiry window. A 100% match at 30x with a 5x-bonus cashout cap scores higher than a 300% match at 60x with a 2x-bonus cap.
- Match rate and free-spin volume
- Wagering multiplier (30x-40x standard, sub-30x premium, 60x+ trap)
- Max cashout cap (uncapped > 10x bonus > 5x bonus > 2x bonus)
- Game contribution rules (slots 100% baseline)
- Expiry window (7 days minimum, 30 days standard)
2. Payout speed (20% weight)
We run a real withdrawal on every casino we score. Timing is measured from request to funds-received on a verified account.
- Crypto rails (target: under 15 minutes)
- E-wallets (target: under 24 hours)
- Cards and bank (target: 1-5 business days)
- Weekend processing (bonus for operators that clear weekends)
- Repeat-cashout consistency across a full month of tests
3. Payment coverage (15% weight)
- Number of supported payment methods (target: 8+)
- Crypto rail depth (BTC, ETH, USDT minimum for a full crypto score)
- Regional method coverage (Trustly, Interac, SEPA)
- Fee structure (target: 0% on both directions)
4. Game library (15% weight)
- Total game count (target: 3,000+)
- Provider diversity (target: 40+)
- Live-casino depth (Evolution minimum)
- Modern-mechanic coverage (Megaways, hold-and-win, bonus-buy)
5. Support (10% weight)
- 24/7 live chat availability
- Typical response time (target: under 5 minutes)
- Email backup and average resolution time
- Language coverage on support surface
6. Trust and licensing (15% weight)
- Licensing tier (MGA / UKGC premium, Curacao baseline)
- Time in operation (5+ years is a strong signal)
- Public payout-complaint history
- KYC transparency and typical processing time
- Editorial standards (published T&Cs, dispute channel)
The dropped-sites list
When a casino stops paying verified winners, changes bonus terms without notice, or accumulates repeated public complaints, we remove it from the list. Removed sites move to a public dropped-sites archive with the reason logged. No affiliate deal reinstates a dropped site.
Update cadence
Every casino is re-scored monthly at minimum. Payout tests run on rolling 30-day windows. When an operator ships changed terms mid-month, we push the update within 48 hours.
